The Rotunda Museum

The Rotunda Museum is unique.  It is one of the oldest purpose built museums in the United Kingdom and the only one whose architectural design encompassed a new science – the science of geology.

When William Smith, ‘The Father of English Geology’ unravelled the mystery of rock formation the facts he established provided the basis for mineral and oil exploration and are still wholly relevant today.

The redevelopment of the Rotunda Museum offers flexible and unique partnership opportunities for your company.  The  highly innovative educational work which will take place during the building and design stage and the programmes planned after the re-opening of the museum will reach into many levels of both the resident communities and the visitors who flock to Scarborough.

Scarborough Art Gallery

Scarborough Art Gallery has just celebrated its 60th birthday.  This small Gallery is home to the Borough of Scarborough collection of paintings and prints with work ranging from Grimshaw to Leighton.

The Gallery is known and respected for its adventurous and varied programme of temporary exhibitions and for the range of events, talks and activities it presents for all age groups.

Scarborough Museums Trust may still be in its infancy but it has already won major sponsorships and has worked in mutually beneficial partnerships with local, regional, national and international companies.
