Objectives

Our objectives are:

• To care for and develop the collections, building up our knowledge of them so that we hand them on to the next generation improved and enhanced.
• To give more access to more collections for more people, through displays as well as through publication including the web.
• To put real learning with real museum objects at the very heart of all we do.
• To build communities of interest with partners and other stakeholders in order to create a sustainable future for Scarborough’s collections.
• To add to our core funding through innovative, strategic fund-raising.

Future Plans

The Trustees have agreed that the next stage in the development of the Trust's service to the community will be to develop a Museum of the Seaside. A working group has been set up to propose what this would embrace and how it could best be delivered in order to exihibit the unique social and natural history of our area.
