Welcome to Scarborough Museums Trust

We’ve got a whole host of interesting things to do and see during this “season of mists and mellow fruitfulness”!

We’ve got two really big events on during October, one for you budding artists and the other for budding scientists.  On 18 October, we’ll be trying to break our own record and get the highest number of people joining in with The Big Draw.  It’ll be happening in every town right across the country and here in Scarborough adults and children alike can pick up their paintbrushes alongside our internationally renowned artists.  Come along to Woodend on the day and help us set a new record.

And also in October, we will be running a Fossil Roadshow at Woodend Creative Workspace.  You’ll be able to see treasures from our own collections as well as meeting world-famous fossil experts.  Keep your eyes open for details on our website and in the press.

And finally, I’m delighted to announce that for the first time in a long time, the Rotunda Museum will be opening up early after Christmas – a wonderful opportunity for anyone who has over-indulged on the turkey and tinsel to get out for a bracing walk and then come and defrost in the Rotunda in the company of Gristhorpe Man and the plesiosaur!

We look forward to seeing you soon.
